. . . around Christmas time [when Jared was in nursery school], my sister and I were wearing our stockings on our feet and "skating" around on the hardwood floors. We had a tradition of hiding from Bob when he came home from work, and when we heard the garage door open, we immediately hid under a nearby bench. Annsley didn't want me to hide with her, because I always giggled and gave away my hiding place. She pushed me out from under the bench, and I slipped and fell, hitting my forehead on the corner of our brick hearth. I was rushed to the emergency room, and I got to show off my fifteen stitches during show and tell the next day.
