My older sister, Annsley, and I were quite a handful, so my parents always hired two babysitters to accompany us to Nantucket. Our favorites, Kathy and Betty Jo, came with us for a few years in a row. They were quite a pair. They managed to get the car stuck in a dirt parking lot, lose their bathing suits while body surfing, and empty the cupboards with surprising speed.
