Randomly realized that one of your close college friends is a business associate of mine (and a really nice guy, of course). Anyhow, was telling me some of his memories of you. Time sure flies, be well brother, happy holidays.

Hey Jared, I just visited Tahoe and I can see why you like it here. Lots to see and do in all seasons and I'm glad I came to see it myself. Yaya and I camped at Bliss and hiked up to Eagle Lake. Oh and I live in Taiwan now which also has a lot of great outdoors space!

I'll be thinking about you at 6:54 am tomorrow, and remembering many more of your cheerful early morning appearances. I'll be in Pelham, where I'll bet Jared and Susie will make their own cheery early am appearances. You'd have such a blast with those little people, though maybe now you wouldn't be quite so cheery early in the morning. We had a great time on the Vineyard a couple of weeks ago - showed Jared lots of those summer pictures. Fortunately there are none of you and your buddies on the roof. Annsley and I split in cribbage, and remembered your and Dick's verbal games. I think of you and miss you all the time - happy birthday best boy. xo, mom

I think of you often. Just want you to know Elizabeth, her husband Jim, her brother Leonard, her sister Eleanor, Eleanor's husband Vince and her 3 nieces and 1 nephew and myself will be celebrating the gift of life you gave her 9 years ago today. I am grateful beyond what any words can say. She enjoys her life to the fullest and is such a great part of ours. We are probably taking the kids for their first Halloween this year, delayed because of last year's snow storm debacle. Anyhow, this year we have a firefighter and a Minnie Mouse. Rob is in Cambodia, and doing pretty well. Life is good Jared, think of you often.

It's a beautiful day for a birthday party, and I'm thinking about your Olympics party, the disguises party, the hobo hikes. I came across a note you wrote to Kristin Sinatra, thanking her for birthday Fig Newtons - do you remember eating all the Sinatra's Fig Newtons? There's a great swarm of little people now, and I'll bet you're having some good times watching their antics. I sure wish you were here to make Susannah Elin laugh, now that she knows how, and to run around after Jared, who never stops moving and loves jumping off the diving board. Yesterday Pio caught me up on the news from your Amity boys - weddings right and left. We all think of you every day, remember so many happy times, miss you tons, and send you love. xoxo, mom

Hi Jared,

It's been a while...boys are almost 9, 8 and 3! Gavin was on skis this year and Tristan and Cam were tearing it up on the race team. Now it is time for lacrosse and soon boating. We get to see a lot of little Jared, great watching Gavin with him as they make their way and learn ways to interact with one another. I am sure basement dodgeball is in their near future. Happy 32nd Birthday, Jared! It's been a beautiful summer, just the sort you'd love in many ways (lots of good days for tennis and surf) and maybe not so much in others (the grass is growing relentlessly). There are been a couple of rain bows, thank you, and the new Jared has learned some words and new tricks - he's a terror with the laundry, has a great belly laugh, and doesn't stop moving. The Drew Barters have a baby girl, Piper - keep an eye on the new dad - he said he was pretty nervous! I guess this post is somewhat random but I have been thinking of you a lot lately, ever since my son Nathan was born. (I am sure you are having a chuckle that I am the mother of two now!) I hope that Nathan and Kylie share a similar relationship to the one you and Annsley have. I always thought it was so nice that the two of you were so close. Maybe someday, Kylie's college roomates will come home from class and find Nathan on their front door step patiently waiting for someone to go to the beer barn for him. :-) Memories of you always make me smile. Hi Jared-

I was remembering the time you convinced me to go snowmobiling up in Vermont. For those who don't know I am not much of a "risk taker" when it comes to such adventures. Jared, you were a good sport and doubled back for me as I was creeping along. Charlie and Abbie are getting bigger by the day, I can't wait to tell them all the stories about my cousin and friend Jared.

I was a security guard at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Tahoe and I worked the late night shift from 11:30 pm to 7:30 am.( Its all about the powder) I met Jared when he was working the front desk. Jared was always up for a laugh even at 3 am and we played countless games of chess and listened to countless phish tracks to pass the time. He would always talk about his family and friends back home. I couldn't be around him and be negative he always had me laughing and I can now see I'm not the only one that thinks a lot of this man. Jared I miss you brotha and save a chess game for me cause we got a lot to catch up on.

Hi Jar, looking at all the snow on the ground here (with even more to come) and conversations of ski weekend with friends brought me back to pop in on your site. Am remembering those Owl's Head winter ski trips--sledding at night down the lit up trails, hot chocolates in the afternoon, you smashing many huge snowballs in my face during daytime and nighttime snowball fights (thanks for that). What a nice website, I'm glad to have found it. Jared, our mutual friend Pio was talking about you this morning...it's a shame we never met, by all accounts we are cut from the same cloth in many ways.

Greg and I lost our father Richard last week...please look out for him, he's a good man...and a great guy to talk politics with! Annsley and Krista really took care of Greg and me and our Mom through this difficult time...thank you for giving them the strength to be there for us. And seeing little Jared smile at us was all we needed to remember all the good there is in this world. I'm glad you are alive and well in him.

It has been quite awhile since I posted here. I've not been representing the Hart side too well. But after seeing this cool new website and spending the day with your cute namesake, it seems like a good time to return and say hi! (BTW, Baby Jared is pretty darn wonderful--he has a great chuckle!!) So all is good here. Oh -- and happy belated birthday hugs. I was recalling a bday cake one summer out at Chappy -- maybe you were turning 13 or so. I can't believe it's your 31st. Wow. The junior Ragos are good. You know that Kate and Nat have been married 3 years next month. Will joined the army and is a 2nd LT. We saw a rainbow that day...so I figure you know. And Gordon....a junior in college. Phew! Happy 31st Birthday Jared! Another year and we will all be in our thirties...yikes! As Rob said, I see/hear you everywhere, especially in the faces...and noises of our three boys. Tristan is 7, Cam practically 6 and Gavin 15 mos. They ran the circuit in our old house the same as we used to in Mormor's basement. We are now just a town away from Anns, Greg and Jared and looking forward to spending more time with them...unfortunately we are further from Hawk, Joc, Abbie and Charlie but I have a feeling we will get the cousins together often. Happy Birthday Jared, As you know, 2008 has had its' share of sadness. There were many happy events as well. Both Tristan and Cameron are now downhill skiers! We are sure you are with them as they bounce down the mountains. Both can waterski too although Cameron is the pro doing all kinds of tricks along the way. Tristan can not only pump on a swing but is riding a two wheeler and can you believe he is starting Kindergarten on Thursday! Dear Jared, Happy birthday. We hae all been thinking of you lately. We had a family reunion in Maine a few weeks ago and u were missed. Lots of little guys running around and playing. Dear Jared, It has been about a year and a half since I wrote to you and it time once again. Today is Elizabeth's 3 year anniversary since she received her transplants. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving her the quality of life she now has and giving her back to her family. Hey Jared, I just found out about your where abouts last night as I was skimming through the Pomfret Annual Fund Giving. This year I donated to financial aid but next time it will be for you. I remember our first year there together, well my first and your only. I was soo homesick and you were always there, in Lower 3 with Mr. Harasky, to talk about life back home in Woodbridge with me. Hey Jared -- It's a gorgeous windy April day and you are in my thoughts today and all week. A friend just delivered a little pine tree to plant in your name in the yard and we'll do that when everyone is home. We've been telling stories and reading poems and missing you a lot. Jared, Tomorrow marks the day. I had a great time skiing with you last year. Your passion for the mountains, great spirt, ability, and overwhelming smile made you a favorite of ski friends. I can remember so many days last spring that you, joani, and myself met up and hiked laps as fast as we could. I remember looking down keyhole at a set of straight tracks and thinking Jared must be here today. Quickly finding you at the bottom all fired up; "man, I just straight lined key hole, let's go ski"! I skied estelle bowl a couple of weeks ago and it was filled in deeper than I've seen in years. I know that you would love to go make some turns down it, so if it opens tomorrow (wind and weather permiting) lets meet at 9. Keith

I never knew you.. but I can imagine from these pictures and excerpts...I cried- reading, seeing, and knowing how beautiful a soul you are. My dad received your heart- how mysterious God is... perhaps one day it will all make sense. I am at a loss for words... hi jared well i just got out of work tonite calling alumni and i was talking to some recent graduates... one of which was an sae plegde when you were a senior...we talked a long time about you and how you always smiled and made everyone feel welcomed and most of all have fun. seems to be a very familiar feeling that those who knew you have in common. i miss you alot and well i cant believe it was four years ago that you were here showing me the ropes and know im doing that for steph.. oh yeah forgot to tell you .. steph my little sister is now a freshman at bucknell! hahah i bet your smiling. well i think about you a lot jared. xoxo jenn

Well Jar, it is a new year and we're all hoping that 2005 will be a better one. The holidays were pretty tough this year and I am glad they're over. The one highlight was the great Christmas party your friends hosted in your memory and to support your scholarship fund in December. It was really fun to see them all and it reminded me again what amazing friends you have. It has been fun seeing lots of you in my dreams lately. Sometimes you're only a little boy and sometimes you're 24 but it's always good to see your face. It is nothing that i haven't been telling you everyday. But today i went to a service for Chris Svenningson. Listened to the stories, laughter and love i suddenly came to a realization. A smile flew to my face when i pictured you and him together. Hey there Jared -- We all thought about you alot over this Labor Day on the Vineyard. There was great surf at Crax...you would have loved it. And a little kadima, though no one is as good as you. We picniced (sp.??)on the beach, ate burgers and lit sparklers, and laughed and cried, told stories and thought about you, missing you more. hi jared i dont really know what to say. not a day goes by that i dont think about you. you dont know how important you were to me at bucknell and how i will cherish all those times we shared here or all the car rides going home for breaks that seemed to be the quickest and funniest four hours of my life (not to mention phish-full). but more than all of this you were a part of my family for more years than i can count and for that im so thankful. i love you jared and miss you a lot. jess, mom , steph , tata, dad and the whole shukis and abella family love and miss you.

Jared- You were there for me to help me through one of the roughest times in my life. The entire situation was horrible and you did not have to see me through it, but you did anyway. Without your friendship, unconditional support, and smile I don't if I could have gotten through it. You also showed me who made me happiest and that I should be with that person despite my stubbornness to admit that to myself. I cannot thank you enough for all you did for me. I had heard of Jared's accident back in May when it happened and just saw the website when I received Bucknell World today. I was very saddened to hear of Jared's passing. We had several classes together and did several group/pair projects together at Bucknell. I remember Jared and I sharing conversations about music, life, girls and I recall one coversation in particular that we had about him wanting to move west to ski. I wanted to leave a note here to let his family know that you and Jared are in our thoughts and prayers and that whenever Jared's name is mentioned it is always associated with a smile and laughter.

I remember Jared as a student in my class. I was teaching Human Resource Management and Business, Government and Society. Jared was quiet, but funny. I could tell he would be the life of the party once class was finished (7-10 PM). I was sorry to hear of his passing and send his family my prayers. We remember a kind and gentle boy who shared his kindness and gentleness and of course sense of humor with all of us. As one of the "children of summer" he brought smiles and laughter, and enriched all of our special times together. And of course we remember his diligence doing all the odd chores that he willingly undertook as part of his "summer job" for Mr. Hughes. I tried repeatedly, but he couldn't call us anything but Mr. and Mrs. Hughes--what a well-mannered boy! We all loved Jared and his smile lit the room. Hi Jared (and everyone), We thought this site would be a good place to talk to Jared, share stories, and hopefully make us laugh! Jar, you will be very relieved to know that I didn't let mom use the picture of you, me and Nicole playing dress-up. I can't believe today is one month exactly from the day I last saw you in Tahoe. I'm sure that since then you've been having a lot of fun (and hopefully did something about that haircut they gave you in the hospital). I miss you a ton but I love getting all the little messages from you that seem to appear every day -- keep them coming!
